Before joining Chemdry, Brian and I had spent almost 2 months deciding which industries we'd really like to start our own business. We had compared a couple of cleaning companies, and also talked to sales representatives from these companies. The reason we chose Chemdry is very straight forward. Chemdry is one of the most professional cleaning companies around the world and after discussing details with Brendan Wilson, we were convinced by him that's what we'd like to do. I really enjoy discussing issues and worries with Brendan. Unlike other sales who use all sorts to skills and techniques to sell the business, Brendan started with the general background of the cleaning industry, and pointed out all future opportunities and difficulties that we might have to encounter. We were fully informed before we decided to join Chemdry.
Our income guarantee was a great success. Actually we were ahead of the guarantee and finished the whole program within 10 months. During the initial stage of the guarantee period, all jobs were allocated by CDA call center and we didn't have to worry about not having enough jobs. This was great because we can use this period to practice our cleaning skills and also get to know what customer expects for each cleaning job. We were not on our own. We received heaps of supports from call centre girls and from Raj, who is the technique manager. Our powerbase machine did go wrong during this first 12 months. However as soon as we mentioned this to CDA, we were sent a replacement machine. I felt we were covered and backed up all the time!!
During the transition period, Brendan travelled to Melbourne twice to help us to design our future marketing tasks. "We need to turn every customer into five" is what Brian and I agreed most! We have tried our best to take care of every single customer and the results were fantastic! Ever since October last year ( we joined CDA on March), the returned and referral customer has increased from 1 per week to now an average of 3.5 per week, this week we even got 7!! So my recommendation to future franchisees is do a good job for every job you have been allocated. Besides, from an economic point of view, that's the cheapest marketing program. We might spend $45-$80 for a new customer, however there is no out of pocket money for previous and referral customers.
