I probably have a lifestyle that is the envy of most people. The Chem-Dry business affords me a lot of freedom. With Chem-Dry I achieve two things. I have a lot of free time and I get paid well. The combination of that is something not to be sneezed at. The whole goal is to try and get the carpet dry and clean as quickly as possible. A lot of steam cleaners leave the carpet quite wet while Chem-Dry does not and that is a huge benefit that Chem-Dry has over the competition. We also have a business coach provided by Chem-Dry on tap which is very useful as you sometimes need somebody outside the business to look in from a different perspective. Chem-Dry definitely does give us more family time and family life because we choose it. How many jobs are out there where you can work the hours you want, the days you want and be able open your diary and say “no, Im not working that day”. I think every franchisee joins Chem-Dry for different reasons, but I think the major reason is they want to be their own boss and they want the flexibility and freedom to run their own business. They have a full-time chemist developing products exclusively for Chem-Dry that we can go out use straight away. Training is critical. Without someone to train you, then you can make mistakes and move away from the system that works. They provide all the initial and ongoing training.

The first thing I liked about Chem-Dry was the low start up cost. I can choose my own hours. Say I have a party or some family commitment to go to or I have a doctors appointment then what I can do is schedule my work after that. I have options and that is what I wanted in life. I can be my own boss. The best part is the network, they are very good and we always catch up, we always have stories to share and we always grow from other peoples experience and that’s vital. I came up to the head office for training and I was trained in all aspects of the business including marketing, how to use the equipment, what’s the latest technology and how to successfully start and grow your business.
